Submission
Submission often becomes a stumbling block
“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife” Ephesians 5:22-23
Often missed is the husband’s responsibility
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her” Ephesians 5:25
God Hates Divorce
Many women of faith will stay in abusive marriages because they believe that “God hates divorce”. As quoted from Malachi
“For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce” Malachi 2:16
The verse goes on to say the reason God hates divorce is because of the way the wife was treated by her husband
“Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth” Malachi 2:15
“But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat”
